Now in it's 7th year, the 17km Hawkshead Trail (Race and Challenge) follow well marked and marshalled courses through some of the most scenic and varied countryside in the Lake District - Beatrix Potter country ! New for 2012 ! a shorter distance 10km Hawkshead Trail Run for those new to off road running.

June 3rd - Party in the Park
From 12 noon until 6pm on the Recreation Ground, Hawkshead. Live music, brass and steel bands, BBQ’s, entertainments, strawberries & cream, picnic area, hog roasts and much more for the best in a great family day out. September 13th - Westmorland Show at Lane Farm, Crooklands, near Kendal
The Westmorland Show is one of the biggest one day events in the country and attracts over 30,000 visitors to displays of cattle, sheep, horses, goats, pigs, alpacas, dogs, and poultry. Cumbrian Crafts exhibition and a food hall featuring local produce. There’s much more including Cumberland & Westmorland Wrestling where some of the competitors will be in traditional wrestling costume and plenty for the kids to do. Disabled access, disabled toilets, baby changing facilities, catering and on-site refreshments. Begins 8.00am until 5.30pm. www.westmorlandshow.co.uk
