old school house

Dating back to around 1710, The Old School House stands in its own grounds in a quiet corner of beautiful Hawkshead, just 200 yards from the bustling village centre. It's run by local couple Eileen and Peter Johnston and their family who offer genuine Lakeland hospitality and a wealth of local knowledge as well as comfortable accommodation and delicious food. Both en suite and standard rooms are available, all of them spacious and well-appointed, and tastefully decorated in a style in character with the house. An important amenity in a village not built for the motor car is the ample off road private parking.
